Jan Spivey Gilchrist is honored with a 2016 Women That Soar Award!

Coretta Scott King Award winner Jan Spivey Gilchrist can now add one more award to her already long list. In November 2016, she will be on the Women That Soar Awards program to accept her place among the other honorees.

The Women That Soar awards celebrate women and the opportunity for women to uplift and inspire one another. In the past few years, the program has expanded their reach and now honors women globally. In 2012, the show set precedent as the first televised awards show in the Texas region.

The goal of WTS is to continue to bridge together cultural divides by bringing together women of all races and all socioeconomic statuses to share their journeys to success. The mission of WTS is to inspire others by telling compelling stories of women overcoming personal or professional challenges and Soaring to success.
