Eloise Greenfield's CHILDTIMES: A THREE-GENERATION MEMOIR is scheduled to be displayed at the Na

It gives us great pleasure to announce that the National Museum of African American History and Culture, the new branch of the Smithsonian, which opens next to the Washington Monument on Saturday, September 24, 2016, is scheduled to use material from Eloise Greenfield's CHILDTIMES: A THREE-GENERATION MEMOIR (HarperCollins). On the 24th, the Museum will officially open to the public at 2:00 pm, following the Dedication Ceremony. “I’m honored and thrilled at the idea of CHILDTIMES being included as a part of this significant history,” Ms. Greenfield said upon hearing the news.

Even before the official opening, there will be several events, including a White House reception. Speaking to the Washington Post, Lonnie Bunch, founding director of the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of African American History and Culture, said, “We expect that to be a mini-inauguration,” adding, “It will be seen as a pilgrimage for many people.”

Please join us and Eloise Greenfield in rejoicing in this historic occasion, and may the spirits of Martha Ann Barnes Ridley, Robert Franklin Ridley, Pattie Frances Ridley Jones, William Jones, Lessie Blanche Jones Little, Weston Wilbur Little Sr. and all their descendants be joining the pilgrimage.
