Recently, Dean Pitchford, author of THE BIG ONE-OH, NICKEL BAY NICK and CAPTAIN NOBODY (all published by Penguin/Putnam), as well as FOOTLOOSE, Skyped with fourth and fifth grade students at Fernbrook Elementary School in Maple Grove, Minnesota. This is how the students thanked him!

Some of the kids also wrote poems after the chat. Here are a few:

And finally, we also wanted to share what some of the kids had to say. "I really liked your voice impressions from NICKEL BAY NICK," said Ian, "and I also hope that you can make a movie out of it soon. And I'm kind of wondering if you're going to make another book and what it's going to be about. Thank you." Matthew added, "I loved, I loved, loved, loved CAPTAIN NOBODY!" And our favorite comment came from Alexander: "Please write another book so we can have more, more delightful times."
