We are excited to announce that Ashley Bryan's FREEDOM OVER ME (Caitlyn Dlouhy /Atheneum/Simon & Schuster) is the 2017 Boston Globe-Horn Book Award winner in the Picture Book Award category!

First presented in 1967, the Boston Globe–Horn Book Awards are among the most prestigious honors in the field of children’s and young adult literature and are chosen by an independent panel of three judges appointed by Horn Book Editor-in-Chief Roger Sutton.

The awards will be presented at the Boston Globe–Horn Book Awards ceremony on October 6, 2017, at Simmons College in Boston.

Please join us in congratulating Ashley, who will be at the American Library Association Conference next week to accept his Newbery Honor and Coretta Scott King Honors for both writing and illustrating this same title.
