On Friday, February 1, 2019, Eloise Greenfield gave a reading from PAR-TAY: DANCE OF THE VEGGIES AND THEIR FRIENDS (Alazar Press) at the NCTE-sponsored first Black Authors Breakfast Party for the African-American Read-In at Signal Financial Federal Credit Union's glass-enclosed community space in Washington, DC.

This wonderful and joyful event was designed to celebrate and bring recognition to local literacy efforts and black authors living in the DC metropolitan area by generating media buzz and C-Span was on hand to cover it.

We now invite you to share some of the excitement that occurred at the Breakfast Party with this short video, and you can see the program in its entirety this coming Sunday on C-Span.

As author and educator Caroline Brewer so eloquently put it in a recent tweet, "Become a witness to the wonderful works by #blackauthors, starting with our African-American Read-In kickoff video. The #AARI celebration officially lasts all month and is designed to inspire for a lifetime. #readblack @SignalFCU @ncte @TeeCeeEm1"

We at Balkin Buddies couldn’t have said it better!
