Follow Marilyn Singer's WILD IN THE STREETS blog tour - Next stop: Betsy Bird's Fuse 8 Prod

"They say,'Hey, do you want to be part of a Blog Tour?' And I say, 'Probably not. Who’s it for?' And they say, 'For Marilyn Singer and it’s poems about urban animals around the world.' And I say, 'Hasn’t that been done before?' And they say, 'Yeah. But never like this.' So I pick up the book. I read the book. And darned if they aren’t right. But then, that’s Marilyn for you. You want something high class and snazzy? You know who to turn to." That's how Betsy Bird begins her Fuse 8 interview with Marilyn Singer about the author's latest book, WILD IN THE STREETS (Words & Pictures/Quarto Publishing).

How did Marilyn decide which form of poetry to use for each animal? Was there any animal she decided to not include in the book? And what books does she have coming out next? These are just some of the things that come up in this interview, which actually falls right in the middle of Marilyn's blog tour. Following the Quarto Knows interview, Marilyn's blog tour began with the interview on Mile High Reading, (where she mentions that she once had a pet starling named Darling), and yesterday Michelle Heidenrich Barnes welcomed the book on Today's Little Ditty blog by suggesting "5 easy ways to help make this book feel welcome in your neighborhood." Tomorrow (9/19/2019), Marilyn and WILD IN THE STREETS will be featured on Julie Bogart's Brave Writer, and on Friday (9/20/2019), she and the book will be featured on Laura Purdie Salas' and Jama Rattigan's blog. We will be updating the last two links after the blog tour ends, so be sure to come back for these.
